Weatherwax Residence – Encinitas, CA

An affinity for Santa Fe, New Mexico, along with the owner’s growing collection of Navajo rugs and Pueblo pottery set the theme for this southwest inspired garden. The ‘great wall’ of adobe stucco adds a bold statement to the front landscape. It forms a dramatic backdrop for a single shoestring acacia, succulents, salvia, kangaroo paws and grasses, while providing privacy for the front gravel and flagstone patio. Custom designed rusted iron gates lead into the back garden, where several distinct outdoor rooms are arranged around the pool.
