The lot that this attractive home sits on gave the owners breathtaking views of mountains to the east in their backyard, where we created an infinity edge pool and spa, as well as a metal shade pergola, an outdoor kitchen and fireplace. We anchored the new, repositioned concrete and exposed aggregate driveway, and identified the boundaries of the property, with short walls on either side of horizontal ipe and pale taupe smooth wall stucco. Smooth stucco walls and a sleek custom built ipe bench, enclose the new entry, creating a private courtyard. Lush appearing , but drought tolerant Meyer’s asparagus fern, liriope, aspidistra, carex grasses , sedums and giant green aeonium, form a simple green palette against the rich colors of ipe.
